September 30th, 2009

We have all been reading the great story of Gooney Bird Greene.  She has a wonderful knack for telling a story.  we have used some of the skills that she uses in our own writing.  Here are some tips from Gooney Bird.

  •  Stories need a beginning, middle and an end.
  •  Stories need a main character.
  •  Stories often have dialogue and suspense.
  •  Stories may have different events such as: long journey, mystery, rescue
  •  Use the word suddenly when something important is going to happen.
  •  Stories sometimes start in an ordinary way, and then become exciting when something unexpected happens.
  • Never use violence in your stories.
